From there students work with built-in lists to manage tasks, share calendars, meeting attendees, agendas, surveys, contacts and other information. Managing documents and files using libraries is also thoroughly covered. This includes implementing content approval, check-in/check-out of documents and sharing Visio diagrams and PowerPoint slides. List and library customization is demonstrated, including creating custom lists from scratch, importing spreadsheets into SharePoint and defining custom views of lists and libraries. Built-in workflows for sites, lists and libraries are covered and demonstrated with hands-on exercises.
Adding pages to sites and adding navigation solutions for sites is also covered, as are the many built-in web parts that can be added to pages and sites. This includes web parts that work with Outlook, such as displaying an inbox or calendar, as well as working with Excel spreadsheets and Visio diagrams. Key administrative tasks are reviewed, including how to manage workflows and manage user permissions and security.
